Before Aspire, I didn’t know what I wanted to study, but after getting my application and being successful with it, I had my heart set on education. I got my early conditional offer and I was a lot calmer going into my exams and a lot more confident.

How to apply

Follow these steps to get into your dream course with Aspire.

  • Get your Year 11 results

We'll need to get all your Year 11 results, so please provide us with your official school report* from both Semester 1 and 2.

It’s best to attach your supporting documents when submitting your application. You may be able to email your documents to aspiredocuments@latrobe.edu.au with 'Aspire Academic Impact' and your full name in the subject line of your email, but we recommend including these in your application.

    * Kindly submit a scanned copy or PDF of your official Semester 1 and Semester 2 school reports. These must be the complete results issued by your school. Partial screenshots of your report will not be accepted.

  • Complete the School Endorsement form

Download and provide your Year 11 or VCE coordinator with a copy of the School endorsement form [DOCX 53.9 KB]. Ask them to complete their section.

Once they have filled out the form, email a copy to the university at aspiredocuments@latrobe.edu.au and make sure you write 'Aspire Academic Impact' and your full name in the subject line of your email.

Alternatively, you can check with your school to see if they would prefer to email the school endorsement form directly to La Trobe on your behalf.

  • Submit your application form

Complete the online Aspire Academic Impact application form. You can nominate up to three course preferences you'd like to be considered for.

  • Wait for the conditional offer

Once you’ve submitted your application and all supporting documents, you’ll receive an outcome from mid-September.

If you are successful, you'll receive an early conditional offer that assures you'll have a place here at La Trobe in your preferred course or into an alternate course or pathway.

    VTAC main round offers

We will formalise your Aspire Academic Impact early conditional offer with confirmation of your completed VCE, IB, interstate Year 12 qualification.

VCE Year 12 students must have their Aspire course listed as their first eligible course. You must also meet all course prerequisites, including completing Year 12, confirmation of your endorsement, and required Year 11 results.

The offer you receive from VTAC/UAC will be for the course listed highest on your preference list, assuming you've met all the admission criteria.

Remember, your Aspire offer will only be available in the first round of offers.

  • Complete Succeeding at University

After you enrol in your course, you are required to complete the Succeeding at University short course prior to census date. This will take you around five hours to complete.

This short course has been designed by our academics to provide the skills you’ll need to succeed at university. It covers how the University works, approaching your assessments through a critical thinking lens, and an overview of academic referencing and other key skills for success.
